The rear courtyard of three, early 19th Century bank buildings provides a dramatic site for this steel and glass atrium. A feature part of an urban revitalization of downtown Bridgeport, the atrium covers a dense commercial concourse of shops, restaurants, bars, and pedestrian traffic. Extensive parametric modeling was used to resolve difficult site geometries and create greater formal complexity. Responding to the irregular plan, a series of folding planes intersect the perimeter at varying heights. A combination of flat and curved insulated glass panels perch on trusses that meet along a central spine.
